An ad needs to be placed in the right product category.
Permitted Items
- A digital camera posted in the category of digital camera
- A MacBook posted in the Apple Laptop category
- A perfume posted in the purfume category
Unauthorized Items
- A spare part for a Mercedes car must not be placed in the category of Mercedes cars
- Gold plated jewelry must not be placed in the gold category
- An iPhone case must not be placed in the iPhone Phones category
Reason For The Rule
When an item is placed in the wrong category, the search experience on Trader Pakistan deteriorates, making it harder to find items and the risk of error purchases increases.

If Trader notices that an ad has been placed in the wrong category, we may move the ad to the category that is most appropriate.
